Why Do I Need a Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom Anyway

HTB12xUBHVXXXXcpXpXXq6xXFXXXm.jpg
These days, it is not inaccurate to say that we're more digitally connected than ever before. Whether we're at home, at the office, on the road (or even asleep!) it's unlikely we're ever more than a few feet away from some electronic device or another that keeps us "on the grid."

Now we know that one of the things a lot of you love about riding so much is getting away from all that noise and distraction, and focusing only on the ride for a few hours. But while there is that "head-clearing" element to riding, it's not necessarily the best thing to be completely cut off from the world while you're on your bike; you could miss an important phone call, get lost and need directions, or have trouble trying to communicate with other riders in your group.

A Bluetooth motorcycle intercom made just for motorcycle riders is the perfect solution. Bluetooth intercom used to be cumbersome and frustrating to use, but these days, they are so refined and so intuitive, they can really enhance your ride instead of interrupting it, and keep you safe and connected while you enjoy the sport you love!

In this guide, we'll go over all the ways you can use motorcycle Bluetooth intercom to make your riding more enjoyable, then give you all our recommendations for Bluetooth interphones you'll love, from full-featured entry-level devices to top-of-the-line flagship products. Read this before you invest in your own!

One thing we hear from a lot of our customers who are "anti-electronics" is that they don't want more devices interrupting them, distracting them, frustrating them, or losing their charge while they're out on a ride. A valid point, but before you decide that a Bluetooth communicator isn't for you, check out all the cool ways our customers use them that enhances riding, making it better, safer, and more fun!

Stream music from your phone to the speakers in your helmet, so you can rock out to your favorite playlist without fumbling with your phone in your pocket with gloves on (and we all know how annoying that can be.)
Get turn by turn directions streamed from your phone or GPS, so you can navigate straight to your destination without having to stop and pull out a map
Make and place calls with voice activation while riding (have you ever had a crystal clear phone conversation while flying down the highway on your bike? You can with these!)
Have live conversations with other riders in your group, so you can make route changes, signal any problems, or just make conversation while cruising
Talk to your passenger while riding, and even stream your own music to their speakers so you can both enjoy the same playlist
Train other riders by following along behind them, giving them real-time coaching tips through the intercom
    And much more!

Benefits To Using Motorcycle LED Lights

20140224201827-1715601010
Motorcycles can add a lot of joy to the lives of many people. Taking a trip on a motorcycle offers a type of freedom that is hard to match compared to other forms of transportation. However, just like any other vehicle that is designed to get from one place to another, parts eventually need to be replaced. Fortunately LED lights for motorcycles do not have to be replaced very frequently. However, when they do go out, it can seem like a major inconvenience when it interferes with your riding pleasure.

There are a lot of superfluous products in the motorcycle world. Some people would even argue that motorcycles are secondary vehicles. Fortunately, I’m not one of those people, and LED lights don’t fall into that product category either.

There are a lot of benefits to using motorcycle LED lights instead of the factory lights. They use less energy, produce less heat, they are impact resistant, come in waterproof cases, and can last more than 10 times longer than traditional lights. LEDs can be used to light up your engine, but they can be also be used to give you brighter brake lights, turn signals, and headlights.

LED lights can give you better vision at night, and can make you more visible to other vehicles. But these lights can be a little expensive, and they aren't exactly necessary.

Although a motorcycle can be ridden during daytime hours without the need for additional illumination, you never know when the weather pattern changes into one that makes using the headlights necessary. In addition, some lights must always be functional, regardless of what time of day it is. Motorcycle lights must always be fully operational at any time of the day in order to prevent an accident. LED lights for motorcycles can be located at cycle shops and online at lexinonline. Since there are various types of LED lights for this purpose, it is helpful to know more about how these lights work and what types are available.

So are LEDs useful? Absolutely. But are they necessary? No, but without them, you can't have your motorcycle look like this.

There are plenty of places that will install LED lights for you, and you can even get manufacturer kits that you can install yourself if you know a little bit about lighting.

You can check out some cool motorcycle LED kits options at lexinonline

Some Suggestions About Chooing The Best Motorcycle Intercom

banner2
Without a motorcycle intercom, motorcycle riding is a solitary experience. When you're riding alone it's a good way to clear your head or get your thoughts together. But if you've got a passenger, or you're riding with another biker, inevitably you'll want to talk to them. Motorcycle intercom systems that mount in your helmet let you do that.

The problem is that there are so many to choose from in such a wide price range. It's hard to decide which one to choose. And given that motorcycle intercoms have to work in an extremely difficult environment, choosing the right one can make the difference between enjoying your new purchase or hating it. This motorcycle intercom review will hopefully make your decision easier.

Let's start with a broad overview of the types of motorcycle intercoms available.

Acoustic Motorcycle Intercom

The most basic form of motorcycle intercom is the acoustic intercom. By acoustic I mean that it doesn't use electronics at all. It just uses hollow tubes that your voice travels through. They're like the old ships where the captain yells down a tube to the engine room to tell them to "give it more steam."

These systems have rubber-tipped tubes that insert in your ear the same way an earplug would. There is also a mouthpiece tube for you to talk into and all the tubes connect into a junction box.

One of the positives is that there are no batteries or electronics to mess with. That makes them very dependable. However, there is no amplification which means there is no way to adjust the volume or filter out wind noise. So at higher speeds, it will be more difficult to hear. Another problem is that some people find the earplugs uncomfortable in their ears for long periods.

Obviously these acoustic intercoms only work for rider-to-passenger and not bike-to-bike. wired motorcycle intercom

Wired Motorcycle Intercom

The next step up is wired intercoms. These systems have wires that run from the rider and passenger into a central control box that houses the electronics and battery.

Just like the acoustic intercom, with a wired system you don't have to worry about any external interference like you do with wireless technologies, unless you add a radio handheld communicator for bike-to-bike talking to your system. Some wired units let you plug in an FRS/GMRS radio, which is described in the wireless technology section below. The radio has to have voice activation for it to work.

One of the issues some people have is that the wiring can be a little bit of a pain. Every time you and a passenger get on and off the bike you have to remember to unplug the units. Depending on how you have it set up, this could be two or three plugs.

Wireless Intercom Technology

There are four types of radio technologies used in the U.S. for motorcycle intercoms. They are GMRS, FRS, FM, and Bluetooth (which may use other technologies to extend range).

Frequency Modulation (FM) radio is similar to the FM radio you listen to, but for motorcycle intercoms a narrower frequency is used. Like FM radio, these systems can produce clear sound, as long as the distance between them isn't too great. FM radio works best when there are no obstructions such as hills between the transmitter and receiver. If long range is the most important feature, then GMRS intercoms will provide better performance.

The Family Radio Service (FRS) and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) are the modern equivalents to the old walkie talkies you may have had when you were a kid. FRS radios typically have a maximum range of two miles with few obstructions in between, while GRMS radios communicate up to several miles. Like FM, these are public frequencies so other people can hear your conversations and vice versa. In some heavily populated areas these FRS/GRMS radios are heavily used, while out on the open road you should have fairly private conversations.

One nice thing with the FRS and GMRS radios is that you can go to your local discount store and purchase a cheap handheld radio that will communicate with these units. If someone were following you in a car, or they had a wired motorcycle intercom system that lets them plug in an FRS/GMRS handheld radio, they can communicate with you. The downside of this was just mentioned in that there are millions of these radios out there so in heavily populated areas you'll pick up lots of other transmissions.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is the latest technology to hit motorcycle intercoms. Not only can these systems communicate totally wirelessly from rider to passenger, they can be used to communicate from bike to bike. Although with these systems the range is usually not in miles, it is in hundreds of feet. Since you are likely riding close to your buddies, this is not usually a problem. Range is getting longer as manufacturers use other technologies to boost how far the signal carries.

What may be called a motorcycle Bluetooth intercom may only be using Bluetooth to communicate to another Bluetooth device like a telephone. For bike-to-bike communication they often use other technology like GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), which is a two-way radio group of frequencies, or CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), which is the same technology some cell phone carriers use. Systems that actually use the Bluetooth standard would have a much shorter range since the technology is only designed for short-range communication. But with these other technologies you can get a half-mile or even more distance in open conditions.

One thing you'll find about motorcycle Bluetooth intercoms is that they come with a whole lot of features packed into a tiny housing. In addition to intercom capability between driver to rider, or other bikers, they let you connect to cell phones, GPS devices, and music players like an mp3 or iPOD. While all those features sound nice, they can make the intercom difficult to use and they may not work as well as you like. If you look at the reviews on the Internet about these devices, one of the top complaints is volume. When you get up to higher speeds they can be difficult to hear. The noise cancellation does a pretty good job of removing wind noise, but that same cancellation may be working so hard to reduce the high noise level, it won't let the intercom get very loud. I've used some of these intercom on a bike without any sort of windshield (in a helmet with a shield) and after about 40-45 miles per hour it gets pretty hard to hear. My kids sitting behind me have better hearing so they can still understand the communication just fine. For older drivers, they may be a problem if your bike doesn't have a windshield. Newer units are getting better all the time, so soon this problem will likely be resolved.

Another complaint is the controls. There are so many functions and only a few buttons to control them. Plus, you have to do it all by touch, which becomes very difficult if you are wearing gloves. Since you can't see what you're doing on the intercom, anytime you try to change a function, it becomes easy for you to put the unit in a state where you don't know what it's doing. At that point you almost have to pull over and take your helmet off so you can see what's going on. I've had times where I rendered my unit useless by trying to change a function while riding.

If you are buying these intercoms to listen to high-quality music you may as well just save your money. They just don't have the volume for that. You really shouldn't be listening to loud music while you're driving anyway if you want to be safe. If you just want hear some music, they may be fine for you. Just don't expect an iPod-like experience.

Cell phone connection may work fine for you as long as you aren't going so fast that the volume isn't sufficient for you to hear the conversation. But remember, the more functions you use on these intercoms, the more confused you can get on what button to push to get a function to work. I've found that these intercoms really work best at just being an intercom. If all you want to do is talk to a rider or fellow bikers, they work great at taking the solitude of riding away. If that's your favorite part of riding, then you may not want an intercom

Before you purchase a unit you need to identify how many riders you want to talk to. Lower cost units typically only communicate between two people. Newer units now can communicate with groups of 15 or more.

Motorcycle Helmet Intercom Features

Here are features to look for as you are shopping for an intercom to use with your motorcycle helmet:

If you may be riding in the rain, get a system that says it's waterproof and not just water resistant. Some riders will put a water resistant system in a plastic baggie and that works for them.
You can get systems that have a headset speaker for one ear or both ears. Installation and moving the intercom to another helmet is easier for systems with only one ear, but some people want to hear sound in both ears.
Most systems have voice activation of some kind to keep the headset quiet when no talking is occurring. This voice activation often has the ability to be disabled and a push-to-talk switch used instead.
Many intercoms have noise reduction capabilities with digital signal processing to help reduce the noise they pick up from the microphone. The faster you drive, or the windier it is, the more important this feature is.
If you want music, look for a system that has a built-in FM stereo radio tuner or an auxiliary stereo input for a Walkman, MP3, iPod, or satellite radio unit. You can also use this input to receive driving directions from a voice prompted GPS unit.
Some systems mount on your helmet, while others have capability to mount on your belt clip or bike. If the system is big and bulky, you may want the ability to mount it on your bike.
You can integrate some intercoms with cell phones so you can talk while you ride. They require special cables or you can get motorcycle intercoms that have Bluetooth capability so they connect to your Bluetooth-enabled phone wirelessly.

Once you find the right motorcycle intercom for you, it will really make your ride with other people much more enjoyable. You'll wonder how you got along without it. You typically get what you pay for when you buy motorcycle intercoms, but even a bad motorcycle helmet intercom is better than none at all.

Advanced 15 Color Motorcycle LED Lighting Kit User Manual

15colorled.pngWarning:Please check your state and local laws before installing this Motorcycle Lighting Kit. Every state has different policies and procedures in place regarding aftermarket LED lighting accessories. LEXINONLINE is not responsible for any fines that you may receive while using this lighting kit. This kit is for off road use only.
Warning:The installation of this kit is recommended to be installed by a licensed professional. The improper installation of this kit will void all warranties.
The control box that is used to power themotorcycleLEDlightingstrips must be installed in a dry location! Having this part exposed to water or the elements will cause the kit’s controller to fail. Any water damage or corrosion to this part will VOID all warranties.
It is recommended to install each motorcycle lighting strip using 3M™ Adhesion Promoter which allows for a much stronger bond between the adhesive tape of the light strip and the cleaned mounting surface of your motorcycle. This is an optional installation accessory that is NOT included with your motorcycle lighting kit.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING AND
OPERATING THIS LED MOTORCYCLE KIT.
Motorcycle Lighting Kit Includes:
  • Motorcycle LED Lighting Strips (Quantity Depends on Kit Ordered)
  • Wireless Remote (Quantity Depends on Kit Ordered)
  • Control Box
  • Heat-shrink Tube
  • Velcro Stripe
Motorcycle Kit Installation:
  1. Upon receiving your new motorcycle Led lighting kit, we ask that you first test the kit to ensure it is functioning properly. Connect the red power wire to the positive terminal of the battery and the black ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. Once the wires are temporarily secure, power the kit to ensure full functionality before installing it. If everything appears to be working correctly, turn the kit off and disconnect the power and ground wires from the battery to prepare for installation.
  1. Optional:Remove any trim pieces from your motorcycle that may hinder the installation of the lighting strips.
  1. Begin by first laying out the LED lighting strips similar to the way they will be installed. Make sure that the wires will be able to be routed in such a way that they will not be pinched, cut or exposed to heat. Also, keep the wires and strips away from all moving parts that may come in contact with any part of the kit. IF A POWER WIRE IS PINCHED, ITWILL CAUSE THE KIT TO MALFUNCTION AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY DUE TO PHYSICAL DAMAGE.
  1. Temporarily place the motorcycle lighting strips to their intended mounting locations and route the power wires to the planned control box mounting area. Use the zip ties(not included) to secure the power wires to their mounting points. Besure to keep the power wires away from the suspension, any direct heat sources and/or moving parts.A few recommended locations on your motorcycle to mount the light strips are under the gas tank, lower frame rail, rear fender frame rail, triple trees, lower swing arm, and under the seat.
  1. Once the motorcycle lighting strips and wires have been mocked up, clean the proposed mounting surfaces with an alcohol prep pad. The mounting surface should be between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve the strongest bonding results from the doubled sided adhesive tape.
Note:The surface area must be free of all oils, moisture, dirt, and wax in order for the supplied adhesive tape to bond and adhere to the installation surface correctly.
Optional:To achieve the strongest bond between the lighting strips and the motorcycle, you can use 3M Adhesive Promoter, which is sold separately from your kit.
  1. Mount each lighting strip to the cleaned and dry surface of the motorcycle by using the supplied 3M tape. Run the wires to the planned location of the control box and secure the wire to the bike frame by using the zip ties(not included).
Be sure to use the zip ties, this is a very important step and should not be skipped.Once this step is complete and the lighting strips and wires are secure, allow ample time for the adhesive to settle and cure. Repeat this step for the remaining strips included with your kit.
  1. Find a secure and dry place to mount the control box. We recommend mounting it under the seat or in a water tight compartment if possible. If this is not possible then we suggest mounting the control box in the driest location available.
The control box is not designed to withstand any water damage and if any does occur, it will void all warranties. Optional:Seal the end caps of the control box with silicone to prevent water damage.
  1. Connect the red power wire from the control box to the positive terminal of the battery. If the power wire needs to be extended, be sure to use 16 or 18 gauge automotive grade wire. Be sure to re-install the fuse within 6 inches of the battery. Connect the black ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
  1. The kit was designed using a modular locking plug system for connecting the motorcycle lighting strips to the control box by using the included wire harness. Start plugging the male connections from the strips and control box into the female connections of the harness. DO NOT SHORTEN OR CUT ANY WIRES, YOU WILL VOID THEWARRANTY.
  1. If you removed any trim for this installation, you can now re-install them and test the functionality of your kit by pressing the on/off button on the wireless remote.
Wireless Remote Functions:
This kit provides multiple lighting patterns and several brightness levels, which are easily operated using the included wireless remote. The remote includes four buttons, “A, B, C, D”
Button A:Cycles through 15 solid colors as well as a color cycle and a color fade pattern. Hold for 5 seconds to select brightness level when on a solid color.
Button B:Activates strobing pattern when a single color is selected.
Hold to increase pattern speed when on color cycle/color fade pattern.
Button C:Activates fading pattern when a single color is selected.
Hold to decrease pattern speed when on color cycle/color fade pattern.
Button D:Power On/Off
How to pair a new remote with the new version RF control box:
For the new version RF LED lighting kit, we have programmed a new special software to pair a new remote with the control box, pls refer to the following instructions:
  1. Give power to the control box, you will see the LED strip will be on for 2-3 seconds then go off. That means, every-time when you give power to the control box, it will search a new remote automatically for 2 seconds or so.
  1. Within the 2-3 seconds before the LED strip go off, Quick press A button then press B button on a new remote.
  1. You will see the LED strip quick flash then go off, that shows the pairing is complete. Now, you can use this new remote to control your motorcycleLED lights.
Troubleshooting:
If the kit or lights do not appear to operate, first check the installed inline mini fuse. If the fuse is blown, check the wires on the entire kit to ensure they are not cut, pinched, or scorched. If there is no damage to any of the wires and no water damage is visible to the control box, replace the fuse and test the kit again. If the inline fuse is intact, clean both the positive and negative terminals of the battery. Corrosion to the battery terminals can cause a poor connection or simulate being disconnected.

LEXIN the newest 2016 version Motorcycle helmet intercom review

helmet-intercom

1X 1500M for 4 Riders BT Motorcycle Helmet Headset Intercom

Our customer bought the Motorcycle helmet intercom from us and this is his review:
For 4 rider 1500M Motorcycle BT Helmet Intercom with FM Radio >>> Both intercoms work as expected, connect to phone BT without problems, calls, music control, FM radio and intercom functions work fine (tested intercom over 100 meters only...) and battery seems to hold well. Buttons are easy to find and operate. A nice led usb lamp was offered with each item. The headsets could be a bit louder and some interferences occur when hearing music, but it's acceptable. Only issue I had was that the item is described as having two headset connections. I asked extra headsets for the passengers because they only brought one. I was told "this was the new 2016 version" that no longer has two connections but only one, and that the order was already sent anyway. 10pcs Android APP Controll Motorcycle LED lighting Kits

Motorcycle LED lights are divided into three main groups i.e. headlight LEDs, auxiliary LEDS for the brakes, license plate and direction signal lights, and the accenting LEDs which are used to enhance the appearance of your bike. The headlight LED motorcycle kit mainly features a panel of about a dozen LEDs while the taillight bulb is typically a cylindrical socket with the LEDs on its top and side surfaces. The accenting motorcycle kits are available as flexible strips and sealed pods containing the LEDs.

When looking for a store from which to purchase motorcycle LED lights, there are several factors that you may need to consider. Quality is everything with these kits. Despite the fact that LEDs are known to have a continuous lifespan of around 100,000 hours, a kit of questionable quality does not guarantee you such a lifespan. You should therefore always look for stores which provide warranties to back up the quality of their motorcycle LED lighting. Make certain that your LED motorcycle kit of choice is waterproof, and is supplied with a comprehensive installation kit and a good wire length to ensure that you can mount the LED bulbs exactly where you want them.

How to select a perfect Helmet

For some friends who love riding, a helmet can be absolutely necessary aspect of motorcycle riding. How to choose a suitable option seem like a significant task.
A motorcycle helmet will not help with your safety for the head, but also can against the cold wind. To get a properly sized motorcycle helmet should consider ‘type’ and ‘size’. When purchasing helmet, it would be better if you can try it on the entity store. A brand new helmet should feel slightly tight, but not putting too much pressure on any specific area and if the front mirror is transparent, it will be great! To further ensure your helmet is the best fit possible, the helmet’s weight should be suitable, once you wear it and make a around, if you feel a little dizzy, the helmet is too heavy.
A good material is very important for the motorcycle helmet, this related to the safety! In general, most helmets are made of ABS or Fiber glass. Some high-quality helmet is made of carbon fiber material, just with expensive price! But it can make the riding much safer.
When selecting helmet, make sure it meets the national safety standards and whether they have the production license. For the imported helmet, it should have below safety mark: Japanese helmet: TIS; American helmet: SNE; European helmet: ECE

Why you should choose a best motorcycle TPMS

Firstly, I’d like to thank God for my surviving after the explosion of my motorcycle tire.  That day, my friend and I rode from Seattle along with the Pacific Coast Highway. About 12:00, the temperature became higher, so we decided to stop for lunch. While having lunch, we heard a big boom. That sound came from the place our bike parked. When we get there, I was shocked: my bike was lying on the ground, and the rear-wheel was gone, and we found it out of 100m away from the bike.

After that travel, I searched some information about explosion of motorcycle tire: the motorcycle tire pressure is 10kg/cm2 which equals to the pressure of  80m high water column. We supposed that the tire pressure was 5kg/cm2 and the gas exploded instantaneously and the shock waves are strong enough to make our bones broken.
And the power of the explosion of tire of a big truck is no weak than a hand grenade, and the smaller the crevasse is, the stronger the power is, and the circumference of 10m is dangerous zone. If motorcycle tires don’t have enough air in it, the deflection will increase and also the friction will increase by times and the tire temperature will rise, the tire will expose easily when riding in a high speed.  With long time exposure to the sun, tire pressure will increase more quickly.
Here I just realized the importance of the detection of motorcycle tire pressure and temperature. Then I searched some info about the tire pressure monitoring system on the Amazon, and finally I decided to choose the high quality steel mate TPMS, which is also with good reputation:
This TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) could monitor your tire situation, warn abnormal tire pressure early, reduce the failure rate and the risk of accidents, improve fuel efficiency, extend tire life and increase traffic safety
  • The high quality LCD colored screen displays voltage and temperature of 2 tires. Everything is at a glance. It also shows you battery voltage and allows you to easily control battery condition.
  • Flexible sensor installation/relocation (without hassles or any breakdown of tires),Conversion of pressure and temperature units (PSI / Bar, Celsius / Fahrenheit)
  • Waterproof and dustproof display, Self-testing for each power on

With this motorcycle TPMS, I don’t need to worry about the explosion any more!

Kawasaki 250 review

图片1
The biggest advantage is the shock absorber, though it is a little harder, personally I think it is comfortable enough;
But the engine makes noise, which is annoying. Another disadvantage is the sense of unsteady because of the TK Carburetor, when the speed is about 70KM/H, it will have an impulsion or vomiting. I have improved this by adjusting the oil needle and it has been better. This bike is a Dirt Bike with road tire, so it is comfortable to ride in a paved road, which makes the riding more pleasant. But when riding in a muddy road, the road tire would be easy to track slip. But I don’t think it is the fault of the tire but my own riding skills.

I have improved these problems by purchasing the below items:
1* sports camera (buy from Amazon)
2* LEXIN R6 Motorcycle Bluetooth intercom (buy from lexinonline.com)
1* Motorcycle tank bag (buy from lexinonline.com)
